“Good intro, but too many typos and too much assumed knowledge” by C. Hill “Language lover”
This is a good book to use if you already have some experience in programming, or if you are using the book to supplement in-class material. It is not a good book for absolute beginners because it assumes a lot of knowledge and occasionally has typos. A good example of the book’s weakness is on page 125 in the exercises for the Classes chapter. The book says, “Many programmers familiar with Java or C miss the fact that assignment in those languages is an operator and can therefore be used in places such as a loop.” Then, the author gives an example.
How is a new programmer supposed to understand what that says? The next several questions are based on this example.
“not thorough enough” by namelessportrait
It was more helpful to me to find free tutorials on youtube than it was to read this book. Unnecessarily confusing. I mean, it’ll do if you have no other option. It’s just not my first choice.
“maybe a good book for entry level” by tenpoundnote
maybe a good book for entry level, but you’ll find the content is very limited if you want to go in depth.
“Timely Delivery” by mallick
The product was delivered in timely fashion. I have no comment about the product. It is very standard item and I am not expecting anything spectacular from this item. It is a good and reasonable product / book, as expected.
